- Tampa and Buffalo slightly edging out Toronto and Philly. Nashville is also to be considered [source]
- Just got this one…chasing down more details, but I will tell you it is highly intriguing and coming from some very interesting sources….The Leafs of course have plenty of room, but the Flyers would have to send some serious cap space back…more on this as I get it [source]
– The Leafs are talking to everyone and anyone right now and have their eyes on soem bigger names than people probably thought…at least than I expected. The Leafs are are interested in Bobby Ryan, Jokinen, Halpern, Jordon Staal, Eric Cole, and JS Giguere [source]
The Matt Gilroy sweeps can’t officially begin until the probable Hobey Baker winner plays out his final four next weekend, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of rumours surrounding the puck moving D-man. This kid was a recent guest on the Hockeybuzzcast Podcast and is such a great kid, who has worked his way to this great position he finds himself in.
There are five teams involved as of now according to my sources: Toronto (e4), Vancouver (e3), NJ (e3), Nashville (e4), NY Rangers (e3) [link]
According to several sources the Maple Leafs are putting the framework together for a deal that could very well land them this summer. Of course Nash is a huge part of the Blue Jackets and the Jackets are playing amazing hockey right now. It has long been rumoured that Nash harbors a desire to be a Leaf. Nash still has a year left on his deal as well. Nothing is imminent.
This source is just too good of a source to not mention this rumor albeit not possible till the summer. The source also told me that the deal would include some “serious talent” heading back to the Jackets in return. In fact, he went as far to say that the deal would be “great for both sides, maybe even better for Columbus if one of the players pans out.” [link]
